Hampi (Hampe) is a village and temple town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A three day educational tour was organized to Hampi. On this tour we explored the rich history of vijayanagar and renowned architectural styles of Hampi. A report and documentation of zenana complex,virupaksha temple complex and vittala temple complex was done extensively by the students. It was organized for III SEMESTER students.
To study about the local architecture and different styles of construction in Bangalore, a city tour was organized . Students made a report and documentation of Vidhan Soudha, National Gallery of Modern Art, High Court,ISKCON and St.Mary’s Basilica. Students interacted with the localities around the places to know about materials used, ongoing activities and the feel of space. The visit was organized for l semester students
Amongst other things, the tourism driven town of Puducherry is also famous for the colonial French and Franco-Tamil architecture of some its buildings. Mahabalipuram is an ancient historic town and was a bustling seaport during the time of Periplus. A three day educational tour was organized to Pondicherry and Mahabalipuram.Documentation and study was on streets of French colony in Puducherry and monolithical architecture in mahabalipuram. It was organized for I semester students
It was an opportunity for parents to interact with all the subject teachers and discuss the progress of their children. It was an opportunity for student to discuss their performance and the difficulty they face with their respective subject teacher. Parents met and discussed with the faculty and principal on the progress of their child.
To introduce the building materials for the development of the student’s professional skills. In the workshop the student were shown a presentation on building materials and had to prepare a chart with the help of pictures provided to them. It was conducted by Ar Vivin aggarwal for I and III semester students
To learn the art of pottery and making creative models. Students participated enthusiastically in making creative art forms and pots which are used for exhibition during the fest. It was conducted by artist Ramu and artist Munniraju for I and III semester students.
To understand the basic process of design evolution. A presentation was given about using abstract designs in architecture and it was followed by interaction with the students on the same. It was conducted by Ar.Sharath for I and III semester students.
To study about the process and manufacture of bricks, a site visit was conducted to the brick factory in Bangalore. The students were taught to make bricks, measure and understand about its components and uses. It was conducted for I semester students by Ar Shivakumar.
