International Conference on “Heritage Cities”( Mysore) – 31st Oct & 1st Nov.

The students of first semester were taken for a heritage tour to Mysore city. They attended a conference and understood the cultural wealth and the heritage value of the city.

Students and faculty participated in International Conference on” Heritage Cities” at the University School of Design, Mysuru. The Conference of two days, 31st October and 1st November 2015 was very informative, and Students benefited from various seminar papers presented in the Conference. The AAAD students visited the exhibition of USD student’s work put up in the senate hall of the University of Mysore.

Before proceeding to Conference on the morning of 31st Oct’ 2015, student visited Amba Vilas palace, Mysuru.

Prof. Alok Ranjan, Visited AAAD on 1st October 2015.

Ar.Alok Ranjan is a member of the Council Of Architecture and he visited our college for inspection .

Professor of Architecture and Planning,

National Executive Member- Council of Architecture, New Delhi.
National Council Member, Board of Architecture Education.

Visited AAAD on 1st October 2015.

Professor Alok Ranjan was welcomed by memento and shawl by the Chairman of Aditya Group of Institutions. He delivered a 45 minutes Power Point Presentation on the Evolution of Architecture. The presentation was very informative, covering Stone Age to Modern times. It was followed by another presentation on how the movie LAGAN can be decoded as inspiration to manage in adverse conditions. He showed sequence by sequence, how the hero of movie converted the weaknesses in to strengths.

He also visited the exhibition of student’s work. Prof. Syed Athiq Shiraj explained to him how students did the AD assignment of KIT Design for Stationery. Prof. Ranjan praised students work.

Prof Ananth Krishna Visit IIMB (Ph.D) – 6th November 2015

Prof.Ananth Krishna from IIMB visited our college to brief the faculty and students about the change in the syllabus and the way to approach it.

Educational Qualifications: Fellow IIMB (Ph.D) Indian Institute of Management, B.Arch from Bangalore University & Master of Town & Country Planning from Madras University.

Dr. Anantha Krishna is considered to be one of the most distinguished scholars of architecture not only in India, but world over. His leadership in this area is highly recognized and respected. Headed Architecture Department at Manipal for 6 years and founded Dept. of Architecture, RVCE in 1992.Academic visionary, hardcore teacher and researcher. Recipient of IIA- Madhav Achwal Gold Medal 2014.

Prof Anantha Krishna visited the campus and presented the lecture on the Choice Based Credit System( CBCS) , which is implemented by VTU, Belagavi from the academic year 2015-16.

Visit to Institute of Wood Science & Technology.

A site visit was conducted to IWST for the students to feel and experience of forest, wood and timber products. Students understood the importance of forest, sustainable energies, timber, species of wood and relevant uses of different types of timber.

IWST is a 20 Acres, wood campus, set up by Central Government in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. It is a scientific institute carrying out research on wood related issues. It has three major attractions for the students of Design,

1. Forest replica of various tress, about 25% of trees identified in Indian subcontinent.
2. Advance wood working training centre.
3. Wood Museum.

Students visited the IWST and had a look and feel experience of forest, wood and timber products. They understood the importance of forest, sustainable energies, wood- from tree to timber, species of wood and relevant uses of different type of timber.

Dr. S.R. Shukla, senior scientist, addressed the students and appraised them on his latest research on wood welding.

Hampi- Heritage tour

Hampi (Hampe) is a village and temple town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A three day educational tour was organized to Hampi. On this tour we explored the rich history of vijayanagar and renowned architectural styles of Hampi. A report and documentation of zenana complex,virupaksha temple complex and vittala temple complex was done extensively by the students. It was organized for III SEMESTER students.

City tour around bangalore

To study about the local architecture and different styles of construction in Bangalore, a city tour was organized . Students made a report and documentation of Vidhan Soudha, National Gallery of Modern Art, High Court,ISKCON and St.Mary’s Basilica. Students interacted with the localities around the places to know about materials used, ongoing activities and the feel of space. The visit was organized for l semester students


Trip to mahabalipuram & puducherry

Amongst other things, the tourism driven town of Puducherry is also famous for the colonial French and Franco-Tamil architecture of some its buildings. Mahabalipuram is an ancient historic town and was a bustling seaport during the time of Periplus. A three day educational tour was organized to Pondicherry and Mahabalipuram.Documentation and study was on streets of French colony in Puducherry and monolithical architecture in mahabalipuram. It was organized for I semester students
